One of the few artists to have have stood behind the hallowed Essential mix decks on Radio One, whilst also securing an Essential new tune, and selling almost 750k records, Cass returns with fresh audio on his new imprint, OurSecretLab_sounds. The 4-track ‘Somebody Else EP’, leans heavily into his love of broken beats and melody, creating sounds that deliver for both in+out.

About

The record opens with ‘Somebody Else’, a breakbeat driven builder, that sees the chords and vocals from The 1975 original, completely reinterpreted and rebooted. New artist Indiana See, provides an incredible vocal counterpoint to the dynamic and lush production.

New label signing gNShY (pronounced Gun-Shy), start as they mean to continue on their ‘Somebody Else’ remix… weapons free. Out there driving it 4x4 style, from the baseline and on. Hints of Indiana See draw you in, combining with the powerful bass arpeggios and shimmering top-line synths, ensuring that the drop into the break and out again, provides the perfect late night sonic journey.

‘Ticker’ takes a different approach to move things forwards, getting down low and dirty, with an infectious synth stab, metro-chic 808 breaks that merge with the FX heavy Indiana See vocals, and insistent sounds of a ticking clock… all hinting at the synth action top-line waiting just around the corner.
